GENERAL PUBLIC FILMING PERMITS
To film in public areas in La Palma a permit has to be obtained from the corresponding Town Council. La Palma Film Commission can provide you with the right contact from the 14 Town Councils in the island. To be able to do this, the attached application should be completed and sent to La Palma Film Commission.
In general the Town Councils in La Palma do not charge fees for film shoots unless they involve reservation of parking areas, police assistance or other services.

COASTS AND BEACHES
To carry out audiovisual projects on the coasts and beaches of La Palma, you have to request authorization from the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Department of Coasts. An application form must be completed and handed in with the required documentation at the offices of the Department of Coasts: Rambla de Santa Cruz 169, 38001 Santa Cruz de Tenerife or send it by email to firstname.lastname@example.org. When the activity has been authorized, the production company will be asked to pay a deposit and a tax. The deposit will be returned through a Spanish bank account.

To shoot on any road in La Palma, you have to request an authorization both from the owner, Cabildo de La Palma, and from the Traffic Authority ( Dirección General de Tráfico ), in charge of road safety.
You have to fill in the form “ Solicitud para obras, instalaciones y usos en vías insulares y zonas de influencia en las mismas” and hand it at the Cabildo offices along with :
- Id Card, Passport, Residence Card or CIF Number of the producer
- A document describing the shoot explaining, if applicable, the need to interrupt traffic.
- A detailed report in the safety measures to be taken while shooting, whether human, signs or both.
- Map showing the route, stating road number and kilometre where the shooting will take place.
- Timetable of traffic interruption on the road(s)
- Alternative route, so that regular users can reach their final destination.
- Civil liability Insurance
- Receipt of having paid the 90€ fee. The bank IBAn code is in the application form.

As for the Traffic Authority, pleas fill in the form “ Solicitud de Autorización de Rodajes” and hand it at Jefatura de Tráfico de Santa Cruz de la Palma or send it by email to email@example.com, along with:
1- Id Card, Passport, Residence Card or CIF Number of the producer/administrator
2- A detailed report with the following information:
– Description of the project
– Starting and Ending dates of activity
– Roads to be used and if applicable, the need to interrupt traffic.
- Representation of natural or legal person document.
- Receipt of having paid the 19,80€ fee and can be paid:
– On-line using an Electronic ID Card (www.dgt.es/es/acceso-jvirtual-sede.shtml).
– Paying in the amount in a bank/Model 791
– At the cash desk: Tráfico de Santa Cruz de La Palma.
PROTECTED NATURE RESERVES
To carry out professional and commercial film, television, video and photographic activities in nature reserves a permit must be applied for from Área de Medio Ambiente y Paisaje (Landscape and Environment Area-Cabildo de La Palma), at least 10 working days prior to the beginning of filming.
An application must be completed together with a photocopy of DNI (National Identity Document), passport, residence permit or fiscal number of the promoter, a location plan of the activity and a plan of the work to be carried out. And, if necessary, to specify the type of infrastructure to be assembled.
This documentation should be handed to Área de Medio Ambiente (Avenida de los Indianos, 20-38700 Santa Cruz de la Palma) or at The Cabildo de La Palma offices.
The specialists responsible for the area will issue a report in which the restrictions for each area will be specified.

The fees (2015) applicable are the following:
- Cinematographic filming ( up to 2 hours ) 1.352,76 €
- Aditional hour 649,33 €

- Filming and reports at runway or apron 300% surcharge
7% IGIC will be added to these fees.
Santa Cruz de La Palma:
To carry out any audiovisual project at Santa Cruz de la Palma´s port, a written request should be addressed to the Port´s offices or sent an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with copy to email@example.com com ( at least 15 days before the recording date)
Marina. To carry out any audiovisual project at Marina de Tazacorte a written request should be addressed to the port offices or sent an email to firstname.lastname@example.org ( at least 3 days before the recording date )
Port of Tazacorte. To carry out any audiovisual project at Port of Tazacorte a written request should be sent by email to email@example.com
OBSERVATORY OF ROQUE DE LOS MUCHACHOS
All those agencies, production companies, and in general, all those media wishing to carry out audiovisual projects on the Observatory, both outside and inside of their facilities, shall apply for permission and consult the general regulations.
Requests for permission to record must be received in good time (at least one week before the recording date) by sending this document to firstname.lastname@example.org ( with copy to email@example.com if the visit is to the ORM).
Subject: Request for visit by “ name of the communication medium “ to the attention of Carmen del Puerto ( Science Communication and Education Unit)
Once filming is approved, the authorized recording plan will be communicated.
CALDERA DE TABURIENTE NATIONAL PARK
To carry out any type of audiovisual activity in the Caldera de Taburiente National Park, an authorisation must first be obtained from the park authorities.
An application form must be completed and handed in together with a photocopy of your identity card, passport or residence card to the offices of the Administración del Parque Nacional de La Caldera de Taburiente: Ctra. Gral. De Padrón, N.º 47 38750- El Paso Tlf: 922922280/922922282 or it can be sent by fax to + 34 922 497081 or mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Once the activity is authorized, the production company will be asked to pay a deposit of between 300€ and 3,000€ that will be returned through a Spanish bank account.
